Frequently Asked Questions
HEALING
-
Healing is when universal energy, or life force, is channelled into and around the body, to where it is most needed. This supports the body's natural energies, and brings rebalancing, a releasing of stuck-ness, and helps life force energy flow more freely.
Fear, sadness, anger or pain can cause our energy to become stuck, stagnant or depleted, bringing disharmony into our lives. However, when our energy flows as it should, we are relaxed, content, healthy and in harmony with ourselves and our surroundings.
Healing can help bring us back into balance, allowing us to be the best versions of ourselves.
-
I offer energy healing. This can also be known as spiritual healing or energy work. For me, each is a different name for the same thing – connecting with universal energy and channelling it into and around the body as needed.
Energy healing can be hands-on the body or hands-off the body, as you prefer. Everything in a session is done with your prior knowledge or consent. If you would like me to work hands-on, we will agree where on the body this will be in advance. Usually, hands-on will be at some or all of: shoulders, elbows, wrists, back of hands, back of heart, lower back or hips, knees, ankles and top of feet. If you would like me to do so, I can also include the forehead and back of head or around the eyes, ears or neck.
-
No, though they are comparable! Reiki is a form of energy healing in which the reiki practitioner connects with and channels universal energy. Receiving energy healing and reiki can therefore feel very similar. However, there are subtle nuances in their vibrational energies, and the training for each type of practitioner is done differently.
You will most likely be drawn to one or other, or even both at different times. Trust your instinct and whichever one resonates is the one that is energetically right for you at that time.
-
You may feel sensations of warmth or coolness, tingling or energy moving within your body; you may see colours, lights or images when your eyes are closed; emotions may come up or you may feel very relaxed or even doze off!; your stomach may gurgle; or you may feel nothing at all.
Any or all of these are normal reactions and are just part of the healing process doing its work. Falling asleep during a healing session is nothing to be embarrassed about. I see this as our body shifting our thinking, logical minds out the way so healing can work on a different level without us overthinking it. And stomach gurgles are just your body relaxing and releasing in audible form!
-
For new clients, the initial session is 75-90 minutes, while all other sessions are 60 minutes. All sessions will be in-person at your home.
If you are a new client, I will spend a bit of time in the first session getting to know you and going through your responses to the Health & Wellbeing Questionnaire. We will discuss what has brought you to healing, what your preferences are for our sessions and I will make sure you know what to expect.
At the start of follow up sessions, we will have a short check-in discussion to see how you have been since the last session, and if there is anything you want to focus on that day.
Each session then follows the same format of a short, opening meditation, no more than 2-3 minutes, and healing of around 20-30 minutes, with time at the end for a short feedback discussion.
I work both hands-on or hands-off the body, as you prefer. You remain fully clothed, and are generally seated, with your eyes closed. If you feel more comfortable to do so, you can remove shoes, glasses, hats or head coverings and the like, but this is entirely your choice.
-
Of course. Healing works just as well hands-off as it does hands-on. With hands-off healing I work in the same way as hands-on, only my hands are further out from your body and I don't touch you at all. However, I am still connecting with and channelling universal energy, and working in your energy field, so the effectiveness of the healing is not diminished in any way.
These are your sessions, and the content is always shaped and inspired by you and your needs on the day. If something feels uncomfortable or you just don’t fancy it, we don’t do it. And you can change your mind at any point – sessions are always flexible and never set in stone.
-
There are no fixed number of sessions. The amount that is right for you will depend on what you are seeking healing for, where you are at on your own spiritual journey, if you are ready to accept and let go, and also more mundane things like basic personal preference.
Although one session can on occasion be all that is required, generally most issues may take a bit longer to work through. And often a healing journey is just that – a journey, not a 'one and done' quick fix. We are, after all, complex beings with many layers to our learnings, experiences, beliefs, emotions, physicality and general wellbeing.
-
The short answer is as often as you would like. That said, I would generally recommend leaving a week between sessions, and at a minimum three–four days if possible, to allow the energies to settle and time for you, and your body, to process and integrate the healing. But this is not essential. Some people like to have sessions fortnightly or monthly as part of their regular self-care routine, while others come for a few sessions weekly as and when required.
If you have a specific need for a more regular or very targeted approach, such as following surgery, after serious injury, or for extra support during specific treatments, then please contact me to discuss options. I am very happy to work with you to create an appropriate bespoke package that will best support your specific healing needs.
If you would like to discuss a bespoke package with me in more detail, please do head over to my Contact page and ping me an email or WhatsApp, or book your free Getting to Know Me call here.

I am currently based in South Norwood (SE25), and provide a mobile service to most areas within the SE19-SE27 postcodes. I am happy to come to you at your home, if you are located within 15 minutes' walk of train stations. I don't currently have a home therapy studio, so all in-person sessions will be held at your home.
I will work with you with what you have. I ask that you provide a space where we will, ideally, be free of interruption. You will be seated, and fully clothed. Dining room, kitchen and desk chairs all work well, but we can adapt what you have as required. I always like to go with the flow and will happily work with you in your living room, dining room, study, or even hallway or garden. Anywhere that is a comfortable space for you, works for me!
You can read more about my thoughts on what practical, down-to-earth healing can look like in my blog.
-
At present, no. I do, however, also offer distant healing if you would prefer a remote session rather than face to face.
In these sessions healing is done at an agreed time, but we are not using video to connect during the session. This is a more traditional, pre-pandemic, way of offering healing. We have an initial Zoom or WhatsApp video check-in consultation with camera on, then turn everything off and start the healing. I ask that you are seated, ideally where you will not be disturbed, and, post-healing, we reconnect on Zoom or WhatsApp, again with camera on, for a short feedback session. Initial sessions are 75-90 minutes and all other sessions are 60 minutes. New clients are still required to fill in a Health & Wellbeing questionnaire in advance.
And don’t be surprised if your cats and dogs try to join in too! Animals have a real affinity for healing energies and will often invite themselves to a healing session when they get the chance.
MEDITATION
-
Not at all. Don’t worry about being to new meditation as I will talk you through what to expect in our sessions. We will build up slowly, taking the time to explore what works for you. There really is no pressure for your meditation to be a particular way or for you to do a certain thing. Everyone is unique, with different requirements. Mediation is adaptable, and there is no need for a one size fits all approach. Each session is shaped by your needs on the day.
We will find what resonates with you, and build up from there. And all of a sudden, you'll find you are able to meditate for far longer than you ever previously thought possible!
-
Yes, of course. Everyone can meditate in some way or another, even if only for a few minutes at a time. Sometimes all that is required is changing our mindset, a stepping away from the 'my mind needs to be quiet to meditate properly' approach or other preconceptions that meditation 'must' be a particular way. Meditation can take many forms, and it doesn’t need to be sitting cross-legged, on a cushion on the floor, in silence, fighting with our minds to be clear and still, if that isn't you. It's about finding what works for each of us, what style, how and where we practice, whether we are in silence or with music or guided, inside or outdoors…
And it's also about building up our meditation muscle in whatever way works for each of us. Doing something meditative every day, even if only for a few minutes, can help our wellbeing greatly. Try reframing what meditation looks like for you. Remember, going for a walk in the woods or on the beach can be meditative; doing the dishes can be meditative; a gym workout can be meditative; ironing can be meditative; sitting listening to music can be meditative; sitting in your favourite chair with a glass of wine staring into space can be meditative; sitting in the garden with a coffee listening to the birds first thing in the morning can be meditative. And so on...
-
I generally offer guided meditations, but can also use other styles such as focusing on the breath or using affirmations, as you prefer.
-
Initial session are 75-90 minutes, while all other sessions are 60 minutes. All sessions are held on Zoom.
If you are a new client, I will spend a bit of time in the first session getting to know you and going through your responses to the Health & Wellbeing Questionnaire. We will discuss your meditation experience, what your preferences are for our sessions and I will make sure you know what to expect and answer any questions.
At the start of follow up sessions, we will have a short check-in discussion to see how you’ve been since the last session, and if there is anything you want the meditation to focus on that day.
Each session then follows the same format. The meditation will include a short healing session at the end to balance the energies, and some time afterwards for a feedback discussion.
You are generally seated throughout, camera on, with your eyes closed if you are comfortable to do so. You can remove shoes, glasses, hats or head coverings and the like if you would prefer, but this is entirely your choice.

Meditation can be a powerful way of supporting healing that can, on occasion, feel more accessible than a full healing session. It's also good for our wellbeing, and, quite frankly it's also just really fun to do! I therefore offer a service where I write meditations specifically for you, that are fully tailored to match your preferences. And which also exclude the things you dislike. No more guided meditations walking along a beach when you hate sand between your toes! Or walking along a mountain path on a hot sunny cloudless day, when all you crave is coolness…!
I ask each client to complete a Preferences Questionnaire at least two weeks in advance so that I can make sure your meditation is entirely personal and best suited to your needs.
Your bespoke meditation can be either a one-off session or a block of four weekly or fortnightly sessions and are held on Zoom. All sessions include a bespoke meditation, a short healing at the end to balance the energies and time afterwards for a feedback discussion.
One-off sessions are 60 minutes with a 30 minute meditation. The pack option includes four bespoke meditations of 15, 20, 30 and 40 minutes. The first three sessions are 60 minutes, and the last one a little longer at 75 minutes.
A pack is a better option if you have a particular issue or theme you want to work through.
But don't worry if these timings feel daunting or you have problems sitting still for that long. We will explore your needs and experience as part of the Preferences Questionnaire, and can adapt as necessary. If you are unsure and want to discuss this with me before booking, please head over to my Contact page where you can email me or drop me a WhatsApp, or you can book a free Getting to Know Me call here.
-
Yes, you can.
Meditation is adaptable, and is generally accessible to all. Unfortunately, many traditional components of meditation, such as breathing deeply, sitting in silence, or having eyes closed, are often presented as givens for everyone. In reality, these techniques may not be accessible, practical or comfortable for many clients, including those who are neurodivergent. However, there are always different ways to meditate and different ways we can approach our meditation practice. It is almost always possible to find a way which feels safe and offers a positive experience for all.
I ask new clients to complete a Health & Wellbeing Questionnaire in advance of our first session, and we will go through your responses in detail then. I will work with you to find the way that best supports your needs, and am happy to explore different options with you. Whilst I generally offer guided meditations, I am flexible in my approach and am very happy to work in other ways. Nothing in our sessions is set in stone, and everything is always shaped by your needs on the day. And remember, you can change your mind at any time, even midway through a session.
If you would like to discuss this with me in more detail, you can head over to my Contact page where you can email me or drop me a WhatsApp. Alternatively, you can book a free Getting to Know Me Call here.

Not yet, but watch this space!
I am planning on starting a weekly, evening, meditation circle later in the year. I also have ideas beginning to form for a monthly meditation workshop.

Pretty much anything you need me to, within reason!
I support you, your family or friends, offering guidance and assistance at any point on your end of life journey, from first point of diagnosis, through vigiling at point of death, to the days immediately afterwards if required.
We work together to find ways which will allow you to enhance, and take ownership of, your physical, energetic and spiritual wellbeing during this last phase of your life. This can be through the use of holistic wellbeing methods such as meditation, or in practical ways such as providing information and guidance about every aspect of the dying and funeral processes, planning your funeral, or what happens in the days after your death. I can also sit with you if you have no one else, listen to you share your story, talk with you about the hard stuff that no one else will. I advocate for you and your wishes so you feel heard and supported at all times.
My role is to support and facilitate whatever your own, or another’s, uniquely individual death may be.
-
Pretty much. Death Doula, Soul Midwife, End of Life Companion, End of Life Practitioner, Companion to the Dying; all different names for a very similar role, though we may have trained in different ways.
I trained as a Soul Midwife with Felicity Warner's Soul Midwives School, but have always preferred the term End of Life Companion. The term Death Doula is becoming more well known, and I have heard it used as a generic term for anyone who is an end of life companion. However, many people who refer to themselves as a Death Doula will have specifically trained as such with Living Well Dying Well.
But whatever we call ourselves, we all provide non-denominational, non-medical, non-judgemental practical and emotional support at end of life.
-
Most things is the short answer!
Common areas of advice/support include, but are not limited to:
· What the dying process may look like, and what to expect;
· Advance care planning (also known as a living will);
· Holding space;
· Holistic therapies and relaxation techniques;
· Death planning and how you want this to look;
· Dying at home;
· Organ or body donation;
· Legacy and memory work to create keepsakes for family and friends;
· Listening and being a 'supportive ear';
· Keeping your body at home after you die;
· Traditional or natural burials;
· Alternative funeral arrangements;
· Planning your own funeral;
· DIY funerals;
· Passwords and social media after you go;
· Anything else that you have a question about or need support with.
-
At any time that you need my services! This may be shortly after receiving a diagnosis, as you near the end of your life through illness or advancing years, and at any point in between. Or just because you, or someone close to you, would like to plan ahead and don’t know where to start.
-
Yes, I am. I come to you in most areas in the SE19-SE27 postcodes, within walking distance of train stations. However, this radius can be extended if required if you are in hospice, hospital or a care home. Please contact me with details and your location and we can work something out.
-
I am currently based in South Norwood (SE25) and primarily work in SE19-SE27 postcodes. I can come to you at home, or in a neutral venue near-by to you such as a local café or park if you would prefer. If you are in hospice, you may well be in one of Royal Trinity, St Christopher's, or Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospices, and I can come to you at any of these. I can also come to most of the local hospitals and care homes as required.
I can be flexible with other locations too, so if you are based elsewhere in London and would still like my support, please head over to my Contact page and get in touch. Alternatively, you can book a free Getting to Know Me call here. For end of life clients, this can be in person, if this better suits your current needs.
I also work on Zoom, WhatsApp video, and over the phone for maximum flexibility.
-
Initial sessions are 75-90 minutes, while all other sessions are 60 minutes. Sessions can take place in your home, somewhere neutral nearby such as a local café or park, or in a care home, hospital or hospice. Remote sessions can be held by Zoom, WhatsApp video, or by phone, as you prefer.
In our free introductory meeting, we will discuss your needs and what support you think you may want. If we feel we are a good fit and can work well together, we then schedule our initial new client meeting. During this session I will get to know you a bit better, and we will explore in greater detail what support I can offer and answer any queries you may have.
All sessions are tailored to your circumstances and needs. Location and type of meeting can vary from session to session. There is no set format, as we will agree together how we want to work, and what we might want to cover in future sessions, but nothing is set in stone. Content will evolve if your needs change, but is always shaped by you.
If you or a relative is already very close to end of life, I am very happy to take a more flexible approach to our sessions. I will work with you or your relative in the most appropriate way at the time, and can do so at short notice (subject to availability), or without the need for a new client session. Sometimes, you or your relative may only need one session with me to support at a particular moment in time. You can contact me here to discuss your needs. Remember, an initial introductory call is always free, as it is important we are able to work well together at this time.
-
Yes, of course. I am able to support you and your relative in whatever way is needed. This may be sitting with your person while you go home for a break, providing emotional support to you and other family members or friends at what is an emotionally charged time, or helping you organise the funeral and meeting your relative’s last wishes.
Please contact me to discuss your needs or book a free Getting to Know Me call here.
-
Our introductory, no obligation, Getting to Know Me call of 20-30 minutes is completely free and can be on Zoom, WhatsApp video, by phone or in person. However, I charge for our sessions after that, as I am self-employed.
Initial new client sessions are £85 for 75-90 minutes; all follow-up sessions are £75 for 60 minutes.
I also offer discounted rates for booking multi-session packs of 3, 4, 6 and 12 follow-up sessions as follows:
- 3 sessions of 60 minutes each - £215 (saving of £10)
- 4 sessions of 60 minutes each - £270 (saving of £30)
- 6 sessions of 60 minutes each - £385 (saving of £65)
- 12 sessions of 60 minutes each - £720 (saving of £180)
If you think you may need a greater level of support than the above options can provide, then please contact me to discuss your requirements. I am very happy to work with you to create an appropriate bespoke package that will best support your specific needs at this stage your life. If the support you need is likely to be more ad-hoc, at short notice, or for a prolonged session, then I am happy to roll sessions together to give a longer block of time. Sessions are payable in advance, although I can offer a payment plan if required.
Please note, if you do require support from me outside of my normal working hours, then an enhanced rate will be charged. This will be agreed in advance with you, and will be commensurate with your circumstances, location and the support required.
If you would like to discuss any of this with me in more detail, please do head over to my Contact page or schedule your free introductory session here.

Absolutely! These days funerals can take many forms, with the ability to customise and personalise in all sorts of ways. Maybe you would like to be buried at sea, or in one of the latest eco-friendly mushroom coffins, or with a leopard-print or motor-bike hearse? No problem! Or perhaps you want something else entirely that is very personal to you and truly reflects the things you were passionate about in life. Maybe you would like a more traditional funeral, but with a very flamboyant 'after-party' to celebrate a life well lived?
Whatever your wishes, I can work with you, and your family and friends, as appropriate, to shape and plan your perfect funeral. I will do all I can to make your last wishes a reality.
I believe that everyone is a unique individual, and everyone's death is uniquely individual to them. There is no right or wrong way to do this journey, your way is the one that is best for you. And that is equally relevant to your funeral and last wishes too.
